Student Ministries Pastor

Do you love empowering young people to discover their faith, live boldly for Christ, and create genuine community? Do you thrive in a collaborative, family-like church environment where we value heart, vision, and the courage to take initiative? If that sounds like you, let’s talk!

At OPCC, we’re not looking for someone to check boxes or punch a clock—we’re looking for a self-motivated, passionate leader who will guide our students (and their families) in growing closer to Christ and one another. If you’re all about building relationships, taking creative leaps, and walking alongside a team of volunteers, parents, and staff, you might just be the person we’re praying for.

What You'll Be Doing:

Leading Students

  • Inspire and challenge middle and high school students to follow Jesus, explore their gifts, and make an impact in their world.

  • Create meaningful weekly gatherings, small groups, and Bible studies where students feel known, loved, and equipped.

  • Be a trusted mentor, helping students navigate life’s challenges and grow spiritually.

  • Dream up and lead retreats, camps, and mission trips that leave a lasting impact.

Equipping Volunteers

  • Recruit, train, and empower a passionate team of volunteers who love investing in students.

  • Foster a community of leaders who serve together, laugh often, and grow spiritually.

Partnering with Families

  • Build relationships with parents to support them as the primary spiritual leaders in their homes.

  • Communicate regularly about youth events and provide tools for family discipleship.

Integrating with the Church

  • Collaborate with other ministries to align youth activities with the overall church mission.

  • Be an active part of OPCC events and our larger church family, showing students what it means to serve in the body of Christ.

Keeping Things Running Smoothly

  • Steward the youth ministry budget like it’s your own.

  • Organize plans and logistics for events, keeping everything on track with a smile and a prayer.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • A strong, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to work with students.

  • At least 3 years of youth ministry experience—you’ve been in the trenches, and you’ve got stories to prove it.

  • A gift for connecting with students, parents, and volunteers (and maybe even beating a middle schooler at dodgeball).

  • A self-starter mindset with a willingness to collaborate with others and adapt as needed.

  • Bonus points if you know what’s trending on TikTok or can name the top five songs on the charts (but no pressure).

What You Can Expect:

  • A Family Atmosphere: OPCC is more than a church; it’s a family. We’ll laugh together, pray together, and cheer each other on as we follow God’s leading.

  • Flexibility: Ministry happens at all hours, but we’re big believers in balancing work and life.

  • Resources to Thrive: From professional development opportunities to a solid support network, we’ll invest in your growth.

Details:

  • Full Time

  • Compensation: Based on experience.
