Week 17:
Zume Session 4
For the first 30 minutes, please enjoy a meal together as a group. This is an intentional time set aside for fellowship. Eating together is a family activity, and helps us become like a spiritual family. This is one simple way we practice doing what Jesus did.
1/3rd
Pray for God to train up the group through His Word and Holy Spirit.
Ask: “What are you thankful for that God did this week?” (Have everyone share)
Ask: Based on the previous 3/3rds we did (Have everyone share):
“How did you obey what God taught you to do?”
“Who did you teach what God taught to you?”
Ask: “Does anyone need help this week? (meals, service, finances, etc.)
Ask: “What would you like prayer for?” (Have everyone share; everyone pray for the person on their right)
Focus on the Gospel: Read Colossians 2:9-15
Have someone in the group play a worship song in response to this gospel passage.
Tell the group that everyone is to try to memorize the entire passage. You’ll have two months to memorize it.
ZUME TRAINING:
Discuss:
Is this the pattern you were taught when you first began to follow Jesus? If not, what was different?
After you came to faith, how long was it before you began to disciple others?
What do you think would happen if new followers started sharing and discipling others, immediately?
Discuss:
Who are you more comfortable sharing with: people you already know or people you don’t know?
Why do you think that is?
How could you get better at sharing with people you're less comfortable with?
Practice Instructions:
For the next 20 minutes, have everyone fill out their list of 100.
Circle 5 names of people who you identified as either “unbeliever” or “unknown”.
Everyone should go around and share who they circled.
This Week’s Application:
Everyone should set an alarm on their phones to pray for their 5 people everyday, specifically that they would be saved, and begin following Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Plan a time this upcoming week to train your “one” in creating their own list of 100 and circling their 5 from it to begin praying daily for them.
Ask someone pray to close out your group’s time.
