Week 31:
ZUME Session 7
For the first 30 minutes, please enjoy a meal together as a group. This is an intentional time set aside for fellowship. Eating together is a family activity, and helps us become like a spiritual family. This is one simple way we practice doing what Jesus did.
1/3rd
Pray for God to train up the group through His Word and Holy Spirit.
Ask: “What are you thankful for that God did this week?” (Have everyone share)
Ask: Based on the previous 3/3rds we did (Have everyone share):
“How did you obey what God taught you to do?”
“Who did you teach what God taught to you?”
Ask: “Does anyone need help this week? (meals, service, finances, etc.)
Ask: “What would you like prayer for?” (Have everyone share; everyone pray for the person on their right)
As season 2 wraps up, celebrate communion one final time together.
Read 1 Corinthians 11:23-28 for communion instructions. Follow the Lord’s pattern and examine yourself before partaking.
ZUME TRAINING:
Discuss:
Have you ever seen a new believer multiply quickly?
What things do we do that actually slow or stop this from happening intentionally or unintentionally?
Discuss:
What are some advantages of maintaining a consistent spiritual family that gives birth to new ones that grow and multiply instead of continually growing a family and splitting it in order to grow?
Sometimes splitting works better for your group, but please don’t assume this is the case. It may be that Jesus wants you all to stay together and each try to multiply new groups outside of your original one. So, what do you think Jesus wants for your group? (Maybe take time to pray through this.)
Discuss:
What are the normal places in your daily life that you could naturally prayer walk?
What nearby locations could you prayer walk that are "dark" and could benefit from your prayer?
Practice Instructions:
Split into pairs and practice the BLESS prayer pattern (Body, Labor, Emotions, Social, Spiritual).
For 30 minutes, go prayer walk two by two throughout your neighborhood or a different location.
Return and debrief how your prayer walking went. Did you encounter any people? Were you able to pray for them? Did God lead you to pray specifically for anything during your walk?
This Week’s Application:
Pick a time this upcoming week that you’ll go prayer walking again.
Plan a time this upcoming week to train your “one” in going prayer walking.
Ask someone pray to close out your group’s time.
